The Ward takes the pull-on silhouette and gives it armor: a structured cap toe, panel seams tracing the vamp and quarters, and a shaft that holds its line instead of folding at the ankle. Cut from smooth full-grain leather in a deep black with a polished finish.
Underneath, a chunky serrated sole in EVA and rubber adds real height and grip while staying light — the reason this reads as a boot rather than a dress shoe with elastic.
Twin pull tabs and elastic gores at both sides keep it a one-motion boot. No laces, no zippers, nothing to fuss with on the way out the door.
Inside, a genuine leather lining backed with padded textile keeps it comfortable from morning to close.
