Black nubuck on a bone sole — the contrast does all the work.

The upper is black nubuck with a fine, close nap that reads flat and deep rather than fuzzy, cut in clean panels with a wrapped toe overlay. Cotton laces run through tonal eyelets. Underneath, a thick sole in bone white with a rounded edge, sitting under the dark upper like a line drawn beneath it.

This is where the shape becomes visible. On the blacked-out version everything disappears into itself; here the pale sole traces the whole silhouette and the nap catches light across the toe, so you can actually see the shoe from across a room. It reads more relaxed than smooth leather and still holds a line under a chino.

Inside, a genuine leather lining backed with padded textile keeps it comfortable from morning to close, with a foam-padded collar through the heel. There's no break-in period to sit through.

Suede is a living surface — it will soften, mark and take on character with wear. Every pair ages into something particular to the person wearing it.
